Pause Stories — your voice, your stillness: Maria German

Pause Stories — your voice, your stillness: Maria German

Today we pause with Maria German — founder of a floral studio in Dubai and someone who moves through her days with grace and intention.

She reads, she moves, she works, she smiles — and quietly reminds us that ease often hides in rhythm.

Her answers are short. But they’re true. And that’s enough.

1. What do you enjoy doing when you’re alone?
Reading. Watching films.
That’s when I feel most present — not performing, not multitasking. Just absorbing.

2. Is there a moment in your day you never skip?
Mornings. My favorite part.
I move, I make breakfast — it sets the tone for everything that comes after.

3. What do you do when no one’s watching?
Work — a lot.
But also, I let myself breathe a little deeper.

4. How do you actually rest?
Without my phone. That’s the key.
I don’t even remember the last real rest, but when it happens — no screen, just space.

5. What do you always keep close — at home, in your bag, on your shelf?
My phone. A makeup bag. A book I carry around like a small secret.

6. Do you have a favorite mug? Tell us about it.
I brought a few coffee cups from my travels. All handmade.
Every time I drink from them, I admire how graceful they are. Like memories I can hold.

7. What’s something you did slowly — and it felt right?
I talked to a friend. No rush. Just two people — drifting through conversation like it was Sunday afternoon.

8. What do you find yourself rewatching, rereading, or replaying?
Photos on my phone.
Moments when I looked happy. Felt light. That’s what I revisit.

9. Where do you feel at ease — not because it’s beautiful, but because it’s calm?
At home. It holds my silence gently.

10. Do you have a ritual that doesn’t “optimize” anything — but you still need it?
Not right now. But maybe I’m still looking for one.

And one last question — to close gently:
What would you say to someone who’s always rushing?
Stop. This moment is not coming back.
