In its “Self‑Care | Beyond Skin Deep” issue (May 2025), Emirates Woman features Ani Han, Creative Director of Enso Design Lab, in an editorial that explores the private rituals of women shaping culture through depth and presence.
“Sometimes it’s silence. Sometimes a purposeless walk. Or a moment alone… It’s about attentiveness and gentleness toward yourself.” — Ani Han, Emirates Woman
Rituals that Ground Creativity
-
Daily reset: stepping outside barefoot on sand or grass to “feel the ground and return to the body”.
-
Morning nourishment: a spoonful of warm ghee, a short walk, then five silent minutes before any screen.
-
Breathwork: slow nasal breathing each dawn — “the simplest way to move from energy to calm.”
-
Solitude retreats: a month on an island, “designed for slowing down and reconnecting with nature.”
-
Design ethos: objects should clear perception rather than fill space.
From Practice to Object
Ani’s interview positions design as an extension of self‑care: when form is pared back and tactile, it becomes a daily anchor. This philosophy materialises in Enso’s limited editions — jewellery and objects created to pause time and invite presence.
