How to read availability statuses, understand the difference between made‑to‑order and in‑stock, and why we publish buffered production windows.
Context & why it matters
Studio Editions are released in two modes. Small batches are kept in stock for swift dispatch. More complex objects are produced on a made‑to‑order basis with a pre‑announced production window. Both require clear communication so expectations match reality and global logistics.
Method & rules
- In‑Stock. Ships after order processing; a typical window is 2–5 business days. A tracking number is sent by e‑mail.
- Made‑to‑Order. The production window appears on the release page (e.g., “TBD 4–6 weeks”). The schedule includes quality control and packaging preparation.
- Handling & care. On receipt — visual inspection and keep packaging until the condition is confirmed. Later — store under the conditions listed on the release page.
- Status updates. Material changes appear in Announcements; detailed statuses are shared directly with the buyer via e‑mail.
Practical takeaway
A transparent availability model reduces risk for both sides. Collectors know when to expect the object and how to handle it from day one. The studio can plan production without compromising finish. Time is a promise, which is why we build in a buffer and update statuses publicly when needed.
