A short note on acceptance thresholds: how we mark “ready for series” and what constitutes a reason to reject a batch.
Context
Industry: product design. Geography: global. Scale: pilots → small batches. The goal is to formalize stage transitions without publishing sensitive data.
Approach
- Threshold defects. A clear list of unacceptable marks, chips, and surface non‑uniformities (visual maps).
- Batch control. Sampling with photo capture; a log of rejections and their reasons.
- Decision. Re‑finish or reject; acceptance responsibility distributed by roles.
Result
Repeat loops and disputes decreased — decisions are made faster and documented. The external experience became predictable: across batches, objects have the same surface readability and a composed appearance.
Quality is a sequence you can see with the naked eye.
